Renewable energy - wind / solar

Erne Environmental Ltd. specialises in renewable energy related ecological surveying. In recent years, we have undertaken ecology surveys for more than 100 single wind turbine sites (new and repowering) across Ireland (north and south).

We offer a full range of bat and bird surveys relating to wind energy projects of varying sizes from single turbines through to wind farms.

Our services include various surveys required by the relevant statutory authorities (depending on the site); bird vantage point surveying, preliminary bat roost assessments, bat activity surveys, bat carcass searches (including use of trained dogs) and ongoing post-construction monitoring.

We provide full reporting as needed for the initial planning application or as a condition of post construction operation.

Erne Environmental Ltd. also provides a full range of ecological services relating to solar energy development. We have worked on solar projects across the island of Ireland providing surveying/ reporting for bats, birds, newt, lizard and other specially protected mammal species (badger, otter, red squirrel and pine marten)
